Everyday in New Mexico, a child, a victim of domestic violence, an elderly person or a disabled person needs legal help. The legal help they need affects the most basic aspects of their lives, such as personal safety, earned income, safe shelter and access to medical care.
When a New Mexican living in poverty with life-altering legal issues has nowhere else to turn, Equal Access to Justice and your donations make legal help possible.
Our monthly giving programs and annual campaign support:
- Grants to civil legal service providers who advise, represent and advocate on behalf of the needs of low-income New Mexicans.
- Raising public awareness about the need for free civil legal services for the poor in NM.
- Educating members of the New Mexico State Bar on the importance of participating in and funding pro bono initiatives.
